Rare kit car produced by Onyx and built over a 3-year period. Onyx are a busy and still very active kit car company, they also still have all the moulds available for the Firecat should any new body panels be needed for any reason. SVA tested 2004, 2500 miles.
Original build-
- Rebuilt MK1 Uno Turbo engine block (1302cc).
- Fully flowed and ported head (Avanti).
- Avanti fast road steel billet camshaft.
- FSE Fuel pressure boost valve with inline pressure gauge.
- Avanti hybrid turbocharger (impeller from Isuzu 3.0l turbo!!) Capable of running boost up to 1.6 bar easily (although I have never pushed it that far).
- Greddy Profec B Spec 2 electronic turbo boost controller.
- Innovate motorsport wideband air/fuel ratio meter.
- Large Forge motorsport alloy intercooler with custom Samco silicone hoses.
- Direct cold air induction kit.
- Baileys twin piston dump valve.
- Custom stainless steel exhaust (by Infinity).
- Avanti Motorsport organic racing clutch (converted to hydraulic).
- Uprated fully rebuild Fiat Tipo gearbox.
- TSW Hokenheim alloy wheels with Yokohama tires.
- SPAX adjustable gas shocks / springs all round.
- Fiat quick steering rack.
- Mohair soft-top.
Recent work (June 2007)-
- Turbo fully serviced and fitted with 360° thrust bearing.
- Wastegate ported on turbo to eliminate a boost creep issue.
- Initial rolling road setup at Interpro (Thornbury near Bristol).
- Uprated fuel injectors (Punto GT) with custom machined fuel rail adapters (made from aero grade stainless steel!!).
- Further rolling road-tuning session at Interpro.
- Uprated brakes to EBC grooved/drilled with EBC green stuff pads.
- Uprated coolant hoses to Samco silicone
This engine is currently producing 204bhp and 189 ft/lb torque at 1.25 bar boost. (340bhp/tonne).

The car has a hard-drive Rio empeg mp3 player coupled to 2 amplifiers (Rockford Fosgate) and Kenwood speakers.
I have loads of spares for it including a spare engine (standard Uno Turbo), spare cylinder heads, spare (standard) turbo, MK 2 Manifold, spare radiators, fuse box, relays, fuel tank, coils, ecu’s ignition modules, header tank, fuel tank rear swing-arm, front subframe, electric window motors…etc etc etc…these will all be included in the sale (if you want them).
