HARROGATE 2004
The second Great Northern Kit and Car Builder Show Sponsored by the FOOTMAN JAMES INSURANCE COMPANY, will take place on the 14th and 15th August. Last year the show was taken over by European Show Promotions-the same company that promotes the very successful Exeter Kit Car Show. Under the new management of John Cooke and his team the show last year was transformed into a vibrant and busy event with over 6000 people in attendance. 30 manufactures, 40 trade stands, 35 clubs and over 400 private kit cars. Put them all together and this made the best ever Kit Car Show to be held in the North of England. What’s on for 2004?
With manufacturers like AK, Robin Hood, Pilgrim, Beauford and Fisher Sportscars giving their support to this Northern show, plus many other well known kit makers (see list below) this years event will be bigger and better than last year. Already 15 outside trade stands have booked their place at this great event. Inside the large carpeted hall the stands are filling up with your favorite traders selling all manner of Kit Car accessories.
New cars on display this year. Launched at the Detling show in April the Veranti is an MR2 based car fitted with a superb body kit that has Boxsterish styling and very special John Barlow touches, this is a car that must be on everyone’s wish list.
MNR Sportscars bring a fresh look to the sevenesque style of car-a new chassis and many newly designed components. A first class body and easy build, all qualities the company have gained with their expertise in building cars and making parts within the British Touring Car Championship this invaluable experience has been incorporated in the VortX.
Motion cars launch their all new exciting and original Avelle GTA mid engine Ford Duritec V6 sports car. This new concept is a prime example of today’s modern Kit Car industry from Replica to ground breaking designs these will be the features of the Harrogate show.

This year a large contingency of Kit Car clubs will be supporting the show with over 30 clubs already booked in. The Westfield owners club is expecting around 100 cars to attend on both days. The Italian Replica owners club are also expecting 40 plus cars a day. Robin Hood Owners will have at least 50 cars on their stand. It is anticipated that over 600 Private Kit Cars will attend the show over the weekend!
Harrogate will be supported by the magazines of which kit car, Kit Car and totalkitcar.
As always Cookie’ Puts on a special entertainment feature, this year is no exception Professional TV stunt man Jumping Jake Semtex will be thrilling the crowds with his spectacular car jumping, wheelies and explosive motorcycle action. Add to this free parking on one of the UK top Showgrounds plus loads of Kit Cars, Good restaurant food Stunt Show, Plenty of accessory stands and top Kit Car makers this will be a show not to be missed. If you love cars you must be there.
