A patent image of a Wuling hatchback with silver markings was previously exhibited. It was once thought that Wuling would return to hatchback market. However, according to subsequent spy photos of test car, this car has been modified to Chevrolet logo and will be first to enter overseas market. This vehicle will be first to hit Mexican market and is expected to officially go on sale in 2023, and it will appear as latest generation Aveo.

In terms of appearance, compared with less voluminous patent drawings, appearance of new car is much more pleasing to eye, and overall design is basically consistent with patent drawings. The front fascia uses a piercing grille design, and chrome embellishment is consistent with this model and also matches shape of Chevrolet logo. Like an economy car, shape of bulbs is naturally not too technical, just simple lenses and LED daylight strips. However, bumper shape still has a design feel, with a design similar to heat dissipation holes on both sides, combined with a protruding chrome front edge, it can still create a sense of movement.

The shape of bead is quite satisfactory, without too much conspicuous design, but overall proportion is more natural and decent. The high-end models in picture also have exterior mirrors with turn signals and aluminum alloy wheels.

The design of tail is very similar to some Skoda models, 3D effect is not bad. The taillights have effect of LED light sources, but rest are mostly halogen light sources, which is also consistent with positioning of model. The shape of rear bumper echoes front, and what's rare is diffuser design at bottom that enhances atmosphere at rear of car.

In terms of power, Chevrolet Aveo only offers a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a maximum output of 107 horsepower and maximum torque of 141 Nm. Users can choose from a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Naturally, do not place too high hopes on power, domestic mass-produced 1.5T engine never appeared, and I think that this is also due to cost considerations.

Overview

The price of this car in Mexico is less than $14,000. Since it is cheapest Chevrolet car in Mexico, price is actually quite reasonable and there are not many similar models in same class. The sales volume of old model is not bad, and its prototype is more familiar Chevrolet Sail. In domestic market, whether this car will also carry Wuling silver label is still difficult to say, market for such small hatchbacks in domestic market is gradually shrinking, otherwise prospects for such models in domestic market are disappointing.
