SEMA's annual retooling event is here again. Nissan and its retooled Nismo plant have done a fair amount of preparation this time around, bringing many of their models to show. In addition to Nissan's own models, Formula Drift chariots, North America's most cutting-edge drifting event, will also be on display during this period. Let's see what Nissan brings to SEMA.
Sports car: Nismo Nissan Z Concept/Nissan Z Formula Drift
As latest Nissan sports car, Z naturally became main model to be modified, and Nismo naturally launched a modification plan accordingly. The appearance hasn't changed much, except for exclusive Nismo garland, which even looks very simple.
Premium does not mean formality. The new 19" Nismo LM-RS1 is selected for rim. Compared to original factory, data is more radical, and it is equipped with more competitive Bridgestone RE71S tires. . The exhaust system has been upgraded to a 2.25" tail section, which not only delivers better exhaust efficiency but also fixes sound issues that new Z has been criticized for. In addition, a fully adjustable coilover damper, Nismo 4 front and rear brake kits also allow Z to better adapt to rhythm of track.
Nismo seems to be working harder where he's not visible. Although output of this 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine has not changed, through choice of Nismo air intake, intake air temperature has been effectively reduced. .Very important for machine. To handle long track rides, a larger radiator reservoir keeps engine at a reasonable temperature at all times, and a heavy duty clutch capable of handling 800 horsepower has been replaced.
Compared to official Nismo modification, FD Drift Tank is much more radical, it inserts a VR38 DETT from a GT-R R35 directly into Z, and boosts it up to 1300 horsepower so that Z can pull out better fat fruit smoke.
Pure Electric: Ariya Surfwagon/Nissana Sunny Leaf project
Everyone should be familiar with Nissan Ariya. It was officially introduced in China. It's closest to us at this SEMA show. Nissan's attitude towards this pure electric vehicle is not commonplace. Its appearance adopts style of a surf car that was very popular in last century. It is characterized by a solid wood veneer covering body, which appeared on many models.
Aria decided to present this style in form of a film. The milky white background color matches decals on woodgrain body, and rim of 20-inch milkshake tortilla has a different retro touch, but isn't it too heavy. taste?
Another electric car is a very common re-engraving method nowadays, which is designed exclusively for electrification of classic models, making it more suitable for today's mainstream trends. Nissan prepared Leaf EV propulsion system for this 1974 Sunny pickup truck. While 147 horsepower peak is nothing in realm of electric vehicles compared to old Sunny's propulsion system, power figures can be described as Jumpy.
To cope with increased weight of car and more power, front suspension of Silvia S13 sports car has been repositioned and car's body height has been further reduced. With 17-inch Rotiform, competitive atmosphere is also strong.
Pickup: Nismo Off-Road Frontier V8 Concept/Nissan Frontier Street Truck Project
Nissan has prepared two different modification plans for Forntier pickup truck, one focused on off-road performance and other aimed at improving road performance. The Nismo Off-Road Frontier V8 concept can be seen as a modified version of hardcore off-roading: original 3.8-liter V6 is replaced by 5.6-liter V8 from Titan pickup, and power is directly improved.
Since this is a sand wash toy, suspension system has also been upgraded to give it a Baja style. The Bilstein suspension provides more travel to handle big hits. The wide-body body also brought in a lot of money, including carbon fiber fenders, metal bumpers with winches, and oversized off-road tires that greatly enhance vehicle's appearance.
However, if you want to play something different, turning an off-road pickup truck into a street racing car is also full of imagination. The original V6 has also been replaced with a 5.6-liter V8, and body has been lowered to sports car height by tweaking suspension system, with 20-inch wheels prepared for it.
Overview
Nissan has a lot of haberdashery for this SEMA, and range is relatively rich, especially Z sports car and Frontier V8, which reflect fullness of official modification. The SEMA Conversion Show will be held in Las Vegas November 1-4. Which Nissan conversion do you like?
