2008 - A Year of Great Expectations

Last year, this title produced no less than 15 great publications and is intent on equalling, or bettering, that achievement this year. We've already produced a Guide to Cobra & GT40 replicas an updated Kit Car A to Z Guide (our 25th, for 2008/9), and a long overdue replacement for our Kit Cars & the Law Guide (7th edition). In the Summer, we produced a Guide to Seven replicas and track-day cars. We're working on our updated Kit Car A to Z Guide for 2009 (the 26th edition). When added to our 12 regular issues, that adds up to 17 massive publications in 2008.

We'll add cover pictures to those below, with links to information on each publication, as and when we produce each of them.

Many have noted the significant improvements which have been made in the artwork and presentation of all our magazines. Size wise, we're aiming to make Kit Car even bigger this year, with at least a massive 148 pages in each issue. In fact some issues have been as big as 220 pages - almost double the size of rival publications!

Additionally we've put a great deal of effort into ensuring that Kit Car is available in far more shops - let's face it, if you can't find our magazine, you can't buy it. Or can you? Take a look at our subscriptions deals and perhaps you'll be tempted by one of the great offers that we'll be running through the course of this year.

Despite what you may read elsewhere, Kit Car continues to outsell the competition by staggering proportions, whilst the sales of our massive A to Z Guide remain truly sensational. That's why we shall have produced two editions of it this year.

Whatever your kit car requirements, there can be little doubt that Kit Car magazine is your best bet for fulfilling them!

Kit Car continues to be written by journalists who’ve actually built kit cars for themselves; something one of our competitors has only recently taken on board. They've a great deal of catching up to do to match our level of technical expertise and practical experience. Take a look at our back issues listing: you'll see that we've covered far more technical subjects to help our readers build (rather than simply look at) kit cars.

The issues of 2008 so far published are shown below. The cover pictures link to more information about that particular issue.

We don’t pretend to be ‘Total’ or ‘Complete’

However, we do know our subject more totally and more completely than any other magazine. When one scrapes away the hype, gloss and ‘bling’: it’s actually easy to see that Kit Car magazine really is more total and more complete than its rivals.

Our Kit Car Guide is certainly more ‘total’ and more ‘complete’ than those produced by others. We’re also the only magazine offering a proper guide to SVA; called Kit Cars and the Law. The fact is that we know kit cars inside-out rather than only superficially.

We regard the accuracy, integrity and usefulness of our articles as more important than the manner of their presentation. We don’t therefore spend a fortune on glossy paper and glitzy layouts. Instead we place more emphasis on paying professional journalists for decent articles about today’s products and issues. We concentrate our editorial mainly on the nuts’n’bolts of kit cars, on what’s available, how it works and ‘how you can do it’ articles. We also answer reader’s questions and provide a round-up of news on a monthly basis.

As already stated, we’re the only magazine with staff experienced enough to properly cover the kit car industry’s core topics. Of course we also cover historic kit cars and the club scene because these subjects bring balance and perspective to our main factual and technical core topics. However, please don’t allow others to kid you that their emphasis on historic and owners cars makes them more complete. We see it as a smoke-screen: designed to mask the areas in which they’re very incomplete.
