In terms of appearance, imaginary image uses many elements of official X1 image. Since X2 is also based on FAAR platform, they are very similar except for rear design. Like X1, X2 no longer features sleek styling, replaced by tighter body lines. Another big change is that X2 finally has a coupe shape. Unlike past, it is only changed in detail. Compared to old model, positioning is clearer.

Increasing size of central grille is a common practice, and headlights are BMW's latest design style, retaining lightning bolt-shaped LED strip, making "eyes" clearer. The aggressive front bumper design might be too big for X1, but it's perfect for X2's sportier stance. With a coupe body design, it has a stronger driving feel.

However, design of rear of car is not shown in fictitious image. Referring to spy photos of test car, we can see that overall proportions are similar to those of larger X4 or even X6. , and lines are also relatively rigid to highlight sporty temperament. Design details of taillight group are not yet clear, it is seen that size will decrease and become thinner, this is also current BMW taillight design trend.

In terms of power, like other models of FAAR platform, it offers many different power solutions, providing clean fuel, PHEV, pure electric, etc., and product range is quite rich. The all-electric iX2 will also use iX1's twin-motor electric drive system, providing a range of 438 km in European version.

Overview

The design changes of new generation BMW X2 are quite thorough. The problem of ambiguous positioning of model in past has been effectively resolved, and differentiation from X1 has also been successfully formed. In addition, X1's sporty looks are more suited to X2's positioning, and original factory condition can look pretty good. In terms of launch time, BMW will launch new X2 at earliest within year, but it won't arrive in first half of year, and there won't be any news on model until end of year, at earliest. .
