Compared to general market, luxury car sector appears to be least affected by electrification trend. It seems that as long as you pay enough, you can still drive your favorite V8 model. That doesn't mean luxury cars will stay put, though, as Mercedes-Maybach has released official images of new S580e, Maybach's first plug-in hybrid.

As first electrified model of Maybach brand, S580e does not exaggerate its personality in appearance and still looks like a "boss image" full of aura when viewed from front. An atmospheric straight waterfall grille is used on front edge and Maybach logo is inlaid in center, with chrome spokes aura is still quite strong.

However, S580e is not without elements of electrification. The inside of headlights are adorned with blue embellishments symbolizing electrification. With details of inner lamp beads, it has a strong sense of technology.

Considering positioning of model, price of this electrified Maybach will not be too low, but given characteristics of product, it could become a mainstream model in China.
